The Prickly Pear cactus will thrive in very bright light and full sun. Make sure to keep it in a sunny area to prevent it from flopping over. They love being outside in the spring and summer. Water thoroughly and then allow to dry out completely in between waterings. Always use gloves when handling a Prickly Pear cactus! They look safe, but the petals are covered in tiny spikes that will cover your hands if you touch it without gloves.
