Calatheas in the wild are found on tropical forest floors, so they can tolerate living in partial shade. They like to have moist soil but not sitting in water.
Allow the top 2-3" of soil to dry in between waterings.
Calatheas can be extra sensitive to tap water with lots of chemicals, which can burn the leaves. We recommend using distilled, rain or filtered water, or allow your water to sit out overnight before watering.
