China Doll Plant (Radermachera sinica)
The China Doll Plant has become very popular in recent years. Once you master their care, they're a great pet-friendly option for a bright room.
China Dolls like several hours (up to 5 or 6) of bright, indirect light each day, and really need it to thrive. They can also be a little fussy about temperature, so keep them in a space that's between 65-75 degrees and away from drafts. They like moist soil, so water when the top 1" of soil is dry, but don't overwater - they can be susceptible to root rot. These plants LOVE to be root bound, so we don't recommend repotting them.
If your China Doll starts dropping leaves, don't panic. They do this in response to being moved, a change in its condition (light, watering, temp, repotting) or because you've overwatered. If your plant starts dropping its leaves, prune back the stems (don't prune more than half at one time) and decrease watering for a bit. It'll start sprouting new leaves soon.
These China Dolls come in 6" pots.
