Ficus Umbellata
A cousin of the classic Fiddle Leaf Fig, the Umbellata is a hot plant of 2021 and a great houseplant for those looking to go to the next level in the plant care journey. But with a little care, these big heart-shaped leaves can grow massive for many years to come.
Umbellatas love bright, indirect light, and can tolerate a couple hours of direct morning sun when introduced gradually. The plant will naturally grow toward the light, so be sure to rotate it once a week. When the plant is young, keep the soil consistently moist, but as it ages, it can tolerate more infrequent watering. The Umbellatas, like the Fiddle Leafs, don't like to be moved, so once you find a good spot, keep it there. Also avoid placing next to cold windows or areas with drafts.
Considered slightly toxic to pets.
