Rieger Begonia
Rieger begonias are beautiful flowering plants that bloom in the winter with creamy blooms in yellow, red, pink, and white.
Blooming begonias are sometimes bought and tossed once the blooms are done, but you can grow them year round with a little maintenance. They like bright, indirect light year round and will bloom more with the amount of light they get. Keep their soil relatively moist (but not super wet). Once blooms are spent, prune them off to encourage new blooms. When the plant is done blooming, cut all blooming stems off, let the plant dry out completely, and then place back into good light and water like normal. These are typically bred to bloom in the winter, so expect to see buds again in the fall.
Considered slightly toxic to pets.
