Oh cool hello - it’s Shylah.
Art Terrarium Shopgirl, Art Curator, and now Plant Stylist!
Plant Styling is a title I made up to describe a role where I show up with plants for people and put those plants in places.
As a Plant Stylist I’m coming into your home / office / commercial space, getting a feel for the lighting, discussing your goals, then creating a customized plan. It’s a dream job. Like matchmaker for spaces and people and plants.
My new made up position is exciting because it combines several elements of magic for me. Creative solution finding, incorporating plants into environments, and transforming spaces. The best!
I’m working with people who just moved into a new house - getting to be part of the creative process that brings their home to life. So special.
I’m working with people who have no plants but want to learn and dive in with a curated collection for their space. Inspired by pictures you see online of Urban Jungles? Let’s make that happen for you.

I’m working with business owners who want to freshen their shop, studio, office, or restaurant . Reading articles about plants improvement on mood and productivity? Want to improve the atmosphere for your team times 100? Let’s add plants to freshen the atmosphere in your meeting room or entry space.
In addition to planning and styling for spaces- I’m also showing up with plants for events, parties, stages, photoshoots and very cool projects.
I can show up to a birthday party you’re throwing and make it super fresh with staged greenery- casually taking the event to the next level.

I can show up to your Open House and create an epic photo booth that’s engaging! fun! memorable! I can show up with plants to a photo or video shoot and collaborate to transform the shot.
Other ways to describe Plant Styling are Interior Landscape Design, Freshness Consultant, or Urban Jungle Enabler. I’m inspired by how the addition of the right plants can tangibly alter how an environment feels and effects anyone within it.
I’m delighted to be entering year two of Art Terrarium in this new exploration of creativity and collaboration with all the Des Moines plant people (current/future). Plant Styling/ showing up with plants for these projects has been such a cool experience.
Scheduling a site visit with me is your first step. The consultation deposit is $75 and is redeemable towards your plant purchase of $350 or more.
I’ll be sharing my projects and inspiration on Instagram. Follow along and let’s connect about showing up, making up titles, or Ask Me About My Plants!
